Congratulations to me! Ha ha! Today marks my 100th blog post, and I feel like I’m just getting started!
You might think 100 posts is a lot, but there are blogs out there with hundreds, even thousands of posts!
Well, ever since launching my sewing blog over two years ago, I’ve learned so much.
I didn’t think it’d take two years to get to this milestone. Heck, I’ve read about people posting this many articles in only three months.
But when I first started, I didn’t know what I was doing. Blogging is difficult, and I learned by watching videos and reading about it.
I’ve made so many mistakes, mainly from not optimizing photos, headings, and URLs (links).
Who would have known? I just thought I’d start a blog to share my journey with everyone.
But if you don’t optimize your posts, then people might not find them.
And it’s very time-consuming to take pictures of everything I sew. Sometimes I forget, or my phone dies right when I have the perfect angle.
But I do love sewing, and I’ve grown to love blogging too.
At first I questioned whether blogging was for me. I struggled with WordPress (a platform for building websites).
I cried while teaching myself. It was hard, but after a few months, it came to me.
Now I feel like a pro. So, this is my little reminder to never give up!
From the start of this blog, I’ve always felt it was in my heart to write and take pictures. I preferred this over making YouTube videos.
I dabbled with shooting videos for my travel blog, and the editing took so long. So unless I find an editor, videos will be on the back burner for now.
In these two years, I’ve changed the direction of my blog too. At first I thought I’d create tutorials.
After making a few, I decided I didn’t want this to be the sole focus of my blog. I wanted it to be a place for people to hang out.
While I’ll still create some tutorials, I aim to share my journey, inspire, style outfits, and jump into some real talk about sewing.
I’m planning to post more often too. Since I finally feel like I have a grasp on what I’m doing, it’s finally flowing.
You might wonder, after 100 blog posts?! It takes that long?
Well, yes, for me.
This milestone means I persevered. I hung in there when it was so easy to throw in the towel.
So stay with me for the next 100, my friend! Let’s see where this goes.
